You are invited to join the
Hope Walk for the Cancer Support Community
“Hope” is the thing with feathers -
That perches in the soul -
And sings the tune without the words -
And never stops - at all -
And sweetest - in the Gale - is heard -
And sore must be the storm -
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm -
I’ve heard it in the chillest land -
And on the strangest Sea -
Yet - never - in Extremity,
It asked a crumb - of me.
My Dear Friends,
I have HOPE. I have hope that we will turn around the mess we have been making of our precious earth. I have hope we will mend relationships with our global family. I have hope we will live into our dreams of justice, equity, and compassion for all people. I have hope that the pandemic will continue to lose ground and that those of us who have survived will be stronger for having faced it. And I have hope that one day there will be a cure for cancer.
Once again, I will be walking for HOPE to raise awareness and financial support for the Cancer Support Community (CSC). The Hope Walk, scheduled for the week of May 9-15, 2021, will be virtual once again and I have a goal of walking 15 (real) miles during that week. I would like to ask you for your support either by paying $25 to register to “walk” or by making a donation. You will find all you need to know in order to register or donate at this link: cancersupportcommunityhopewalk.rallybound.org . If you have any questions, please let me know.
I will be walking every day of that week and would love it if you could join me. Just let me know if you have a day and time that you could share the trail with me and we’ll make it a date. *
I have been an active member of the Cancer Support Community (CSC) for nearly five years. I have participated in hundreds of classes and groups and once I was better, I began volunteering at the front desk and helping with projects. I have made many new friends and know how we are all benefiting from the CSC services. All of this has been free of charge and this is why I am walking – for HOPE for all people who are facing cancer and need this help.
Whether or not you join my Hope Walk team, I ask that you please give some HOPE to anyone you know whose life is affected by cancer by introducing them to Cancer Support Community at cancersupport.net. I am always happy to chat with anyone who would like to know more.
Yours in HOPE,
*I am fully vaccinated and will wear a mask. I will be walking around 2 miles a day on wide, paved paths, but could be enticed to a somewhat more rugged trail if you are interested😊
