Well, the cat's out of the bag; in October of 2023, I was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer and am still actively going through treatment. Cancer does not run in my family, and I have absolutely zero genetic markers for all known cancers. To say the diagnosis was a shock is an understatement. Thank goodness for my fantastic cancer team of excellent doctors and nurses and the Cancer Support Community, which provides invaluable resources from nutrition to therapy to health classes for those individuals and families who are going through cancer. The Cancer Support Community has been invaluable to me with weekly group sessions to connect with others going through similar journeys as me.
